Pygmy Seahorse
PYGMY SEAHORSE
The Pygmy Seahorse is one of the smallest and most elusive seahorse species in the world. Perfectly adapted to life among gorgonian corals, it matches the color and texture of its host with astonishing precision. This camouflage is so effective that the species went unnoticed until discovered by chance. Pygmy Seahorses spend their entire lives on a single coral, rarely moving far. Their tiny size and secretive nature make them extremely difficult to spot. Our exhibit provides a rare and intimate glimpse into the hidden micro-world of reef life.
