Zebra Seahorse
ZEBRA SEAHORSE
The Zebra Seahorse is a small but striking species named for its bold black-and-white banded pattern. Native to Australian waters, it relies on camouflage and stillness to ambush tiny prey drifting past. Unlike many seahorses, it often inhabits more exposed reef environments. Its distinctive markings help break up its outline among coral and rock. Zebra Seahorses are rarely seen in the wild due to their size and excellent camouflage. Visitors to our exhibit can appreciate the intricate patterns that make this species so unique.
